11:30 a.m. jan. 5, 1988, train no. 353 bound for chicago became the last train to roll out of the depot. it was just over 74 years after the first steamed in.

once abandoned right off woodward ave, detroit michigan. the hecker-smiley mansion built in 1892. french renaissance chateauesque (inspired by chateau de chenonceau, loire valley, france). 49-room mansion. bathroom count: 11. fireplace count: 13. next door neighbor: Domino’s Pizza.
