  1. ‘Spicewood’ has a lovely sound to it. I wonder what a spicewood tree smells like or what a whole town named after it would be like. Names for places sometimes make no sense at all. I actually saw a strip-mall named Walden Park once and in my neighborhood — Cherrywood — the only cherries around seem to be much maligned hackberries. =)

    • it’s a wonderful area just outside of austin in beautiful texas hill country…oddly enough no spicey-woods to be found…plenty of cedars which give me awful allergies and oaks, mesquite and cacti. Does make you wonder how/what they name areas..the history of it all..
